| I recently had a crown put on my upper left canine tooth
(number#11). It doesn't seem to fit well at all. I plan to contact my dentist to see if he
can somehow adjust it, but in case he can't, or he adjusts it and it still doesn't feel
right, can a permanent crown ever be removed?
Any advice you could give would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you for visiting our
web site and for your question. The good news is that any crown can be removed.
Unfortunately, crowns are often bonded so tightly that the only way to remove them is to
make a slot through the crown, destroying the crown in the process. There are, however, a
number of devices which allow dentists to try to remove crowns without destroying them. It
is still quite possible that your dentist will be able to adjust your crown so that it
feels right. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor! |
