HI! i'm 15 years old and i want to get my tongue pierced but first i want to find out if there are any dental risks? Are there any risks, as long as i had the right size jewlery and i took care of it and kept it clean? Are there any other risks involved?

The main dental risk involved with tongue piercings is an increased risk of fracturing teeth due to biting the tongue bar. This may occur due to habitual biting, while eating, or even while sleeping at night. If you decide to get a tongue bar, I recommend that you monitor the frequency with which you bite it to see if this will become a problem for you.
